A very active Saturday at Attenborough. The day saw youth training followed by casual sailing. At 6pm we had the first Saturday race at the club for many years with six entries drifting around the pond. Thanks to Paul Kelly for being Race Officer with Bill Reid and James Kelly overseeing rescue and Roger Day for on course commentary to the large number of spectators. The front of the fleet saw a close race between Mike Pritchard and Kevin Last and that is how the first two finished with Rich Chaney third and Iona Reid after a great start coming third.
Following the race over twenty members retired to the club veranda for drinks and an excellent BBQ with salad and cake organised by Paul and Emma Kelly.
A great success and hopefully more members will attend in July. Next date is Saturday 6th of July. Race may start earlier as those attending thought this would see more racing. Once time ios decided we will communicate via Telltales and website.
