Sunday so light and very variable winds saw another good turnout on Sunday under blue skies. Race Officer Brian Davies did well to get two races away. Te first for the Sunday Handicap Series started in a good breeze so the whole pond was used. A great start by Paul Jago saw him lead the first lap with Peter Hampshire and Andrew Beaumont doing well. As the wind dropped Mike Pritchard ‘moved’ through the fleet and ultimately won easily from Paul Jap and Louis Mok. This meant Mike won the series with one race to sail. Second and third places will be determined next Sunday.
The second race ended up with a much smaller triangular course although as would happen the wind picked up just before the start with eight boats taking part. Mike Pritchard led the fleet away closely followed by Paul Jago and the two of there were close on teh water for a few laps before Mike pulled away. Brian called it a day after eight laps with Mike winning on corrected time by 4 seconds from Paul Jago with Louis Mok third. This sets up next week as a winner takes all between Mike and Paul with third place between Louis Mok and Peter Hampshire.
