We have been given warning that the River Trent and Erewash are likely to burst their banks this weekend.
Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Have said
Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has notified us that they believe the River Trent will burst its banks this weekend causing Attenborough flood defences to be activated. We are advised to ensure our boats are secure.
However recent photos were taken at the club by the Friday cruising gang (today) and the river Erewash has already breached into the carpark.
If you can check your boats are tied down and made secure, Please also be mindful when going to the sailing club as the water level could change quickly. Please also assess whether it is actually safe to enter the compound. ensure you have told a responsible adult of your plans and ensure your passage plan has been submitted.
