Wednesday 21st April Race Report:
Joint Winners!
A sunny and breezy, but cool, evening led to close racing on the water and a remarkable dead-heat with two sailors having the exact same time after correction for their respective boats handicap. Ten boat took part with the Kev Milton’s phantom and Roger Day’s gull sharing the honours of the race win.
The biggest challenge on the course was which route to take on the reach from 3 to 6. On the first lap half the fleet took the direct route in between the islands, slow, but direct, whereas half wen to the leeward side of the islands. By lap two all the fleet had decided that the longer, but quick, route to windward of the islands was quickest.
